Naftogaz will increase the price of gas for people by 19%

The national joint stock company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" expects an increase in gas prices for people by 18.84%, or by 931 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters up to 5 873 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters without value added tax from October. This is provided for by the financial plan of the NAC for 2017, which was submitted for discussion by the government on July 19.

According to it, the selling price of natural gas for consumers in respect of which the Cabinet of Ministers has imposed a special obligation (PSO, tariffs for people) until October 1 corresponds to current prices, and from October 1 it has been increased by 19% to 5 873 UAH/ 1,000 cub. m without VAT. Except for cases when the government makes a relevant decision, the price for the sale of natural gas to consumers in respect of which a special obligation is not entrusted is set by the company independently. As reported, on April 26, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced into the resolution on special obligations of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine a formula for calculating the final marginal price of natural gas for the population (the cost of gas supply services), based on the previously approved by the Cabinet of Ministers price of gas as a commodity 4,942 UAH /1,000 cub. m (without VAT) of trade markups of suppliers, taxes and tariffs of NERC for transportation and distribution of gas.
