Electric heating. Pros and cons.
Pros:
- low price of equipment in comparison with gas and solid fuel boilers;
- small dimensions of the boiler and ease of installation;
- high efficiency (99% of electrical energy is converted into heat);
- environmental friendliness and cleanliness (there are no emissions of smoke or soot);
- automatic operation of the boiler (the temperature mode is set, and the boiler maintains it without additional intervention);
- no special permits are required;
- safety (no risk factors associated with an open flame or gas leakage);
- quiet operation (in particular, almost silent power relays are used in Tenko electric boilers);
Cons:
The main disadvantage of the electric boiler was the high price of electricity compared to the price of gas. However, due to changes in tariffs, an increase in electricity consumption rates and the use of electric heating, this disadvantage was leveled. On the contrary, with the proper use of electricity today, electric heating may be cheaper than gas heating. In fact, the electric boiler has one drawback - the dependence on an uninterrupted power supply. However, this disadvantage may be eliminated by installing additional automation. Also, when installing high-power boilers, certain requirements for the electrical network should be complied with (voltage 380 V, current at least 25 A).
