The government has established a single gas price for the population and industrial consumers

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on a single gas price for the population and industry. Resolution №758 was unanimously supported by all members of the government, Ukrainian News writes.

According to the decree, from May 1 the government has obliged NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine to sell gas to people at a single price of UAH 6879 per thousand cubic meters (including VAT, transportation costs and other expenses), thereby canceling the so-called "social norm" of 1200 cubic meters for the heating season at a price of UAH 3600 per thousand cubic meters, which remained in force during the 2015/2016 heating season.

The sale price of gas for the needs of Teplokommunenergo is also set at UAH 6,879 per thousand cubic meters.

The price of gas as a commodity (excluding transportation and VAT) will make up to UAH 4942 per thousand cubic meters.

As you know, the memorandum with the IMF provides for an increase in gas prices for people from April 1, 2016 within the social norm of 1200 cubic meters during the heating season to the level of 75% of the import parity.
